Used Car Dealers – Tricks And Deceptions

Even though many people can afford a new car, they choose to buy a used vehicle for a variety of reasons. Some people buy used vehicles of about a year or two old; they are still in like new condition but the major portion of the depreciation has already occurred. When it’s time to buy that car, they tend to shop at used car dealers.

This type of dealership has really managed to gain a tough reputation over the years. Even movies and television shows make fun of used car salespeople and portray them as stupid, lazy, or downright criminals. They also have reputations for trying to sell vehicles that should be sent to be crushed long ago. Consumers are always filing complaints about how they were allegedly done wrong at one of their local dealers.

How much of all this is true? Some. No matter how shady some of these people might be, the majority of the onus falls on the customer to understand exactly what he’s buying and what he’s being charged. Unless you have a dealer who is purposely committing fraud, your entire deal should be plainly outlined in the paperwork given to you sign.

If you had promises made to you, make sure they are in writing. Forget the gentleman’s handshake or “don’t worry about a thing, I’ll take care of you” speeches. Don’t sign anything unless everything you had agreed to is indeed in writing. If not, you were instrumental in causing your own problem.

One issue that keeps coming up when it comes to consumer complaints is the type of financing available for used cars. This can’t always be blamed on just used car dealerships. Used cars have always had higher interest rates associated with the loans no matter how good your credit is. Why? Used cars are the ones that are defaulted on more frequently. This goes back decades when used cars were really old clunkers, and if people financed them, they would usually just die and people would stop paying for them. Even though the car industry has changed, the finance industry hasn’t kept up with the times.

Another problem consumers have is that it’s hard to get specific information about the cars on many lots. Some dealerships sell any car they can. They can’t be expected to know everything about every car on the lot. And, these cars usually don’t get turned in with the original owners manual so if you find a car you’re interested in, it’s up to you to learn all about it.

In these cases, do research before even making a down payment. If you have a laptop with a wireless data plan, bring it with you! Let the salesman know you are going to check out the car, the pricing, financing alternatives, and a CarFax history report.

Then, take it for a long test drive. If possible, have an auto mechanic look at the odometer and rule out tampering. This isn’t limited to old cars; many new cars that were leases are still prime candidates. Some cars are turned in just because of their high mileage. Make sure you aren’t buying one.

Used Car Dealers – Good, Bad And Very Ugly

Not everyone can afford a brand new car. And for many who can, they simply choose to buy a used vehicle once it has gone through its initial steep depreciation of the first year. When it comes to making that used car purchased, it’s frequently done from used car dealers.

These car dealers have garnered a pretty bad reputation over the years. Even movies tend to depict them as a bunch of losers selling vehicles that should for the most part have been sent to the junk piles. Consumers have lodged many complaints over the years alleging everything from failure to live up to guarantees all the way up to fraud.

But are they really that bad? Depends. Sure, there are plenty of dealerships out there for both new and used vehicles that operate on the fringe of the law. They make promises that they won’t put in writing. They outright lie to the buyers, and they rarely point out important details in the fine print. Is this all their fault, however? What about being an educated consumer and understanding the deal you are entering into?

One of the most common problems consumer have is the type of financing available. Even though there are many credit worthy middle class families who make a conscious decision to buy a good used car, finance companies typically charge higher interest rates no matter what your credit rating. Even someone with an excellent FICO score can expect to pay 2% more on a used car loan than on a new one. Many dealerships thrive on these loans because they get commissions, or kickbacks, for each buyer who finances through them.

Some dealers do nothing but buy and sell used trucks; it doesn’t matter what make or model. You might be able to find a decent car, but you can’t expect the sales person to know much about each vehicle. They aren’t experts in all models ever made. Perhaps they aren’t expert in any model at all. All they know is how to sell you a car from their lot.

When you are buying a car, any car, it’s a normal assumption that you’ll be able to ask questions that pertain to that specific model. To compound the issue, many used cars aren’t even sold with their original owner manuals. You might find a car you absolutely love, but don’t buy it on looks or price alone.

Before making any commitments at any dealership, and that includes even making a “refundable” deposit to hold the car, do some research. Go home and check out that particular make and model. Look for recalls, consumer reviews, and pricing information. Run a CarFax report if the dealership won’t do this for free. You’ll need the VIN for that vehicle, and by law they have to give it to you.

Take it for a long test drive. Some dealers like to steer you around their parking lot or maybe around the block. Make sure you get it on a highway, test the brakes, test the pickup, and then call your insurance company for a quote.

Whether you are purchasing new or used cars, our reliable automotive dealership offers friendly customer service and up-to-date resources. Our team of experienced dealers Edmonton has all the information you need for purchasing cars, vans, used trucks Edmonton, and other vehicles.

A Look At The EU Neuwagen

In Germany, when a person wants to buy a car, it can be very expensive. The taxes and fees are extremely high for new cars that are purchased in Germany. In answer to consumers demands for cars that were new, easy to get, and affordable, EU Neuwagen designed a brilliant solution that saves Germans a lot of money when they are purchasing a new car.

Besides the high fees and taxes, there are other obstacles when a person wants to buy a new car in Germany. For the more popular models of car, there is often a long waiting list. So, even when a person is willing to spend the extra money in fees and taxes for the car, they often can’t get it when they want.

The alternative is to buy a car that has been re-imported to Germany from another EU country. When a person buys an EU Neuwagen, they are not paying the additional fees that would apply if the car were purchased in Germany.

Some EU dealers focus on a single car manufacturer and sell the models of cars that the manufacturer makes. Other EU dealers sell any model of new car and provide an individual with an EU Neuwagen within a few days of the order. A purchaser receives the benefits of the new car that come with the same cars purchased in Germany. The warranty will remain in effect from the time the car is imported until the manufacturer’s expiration date.

An added benefit for purchasers is that they do not need to do anything to get the car re-imported. The EU Neuwagen dealer takes care of paperwork and details regarding the importing of the car. Most people report that their car arrives to them with 0 km on the meter.

The EU Neuwagen dealers also offer financing and leasing options for customers. These options include regular tune-ups and maintenance checks. The warranty that comes with the car remains in effect just as with the purchase of a new car.

Many EU Neuwagen dealers receive extra discounts from car manufacturers and pass the extra discounts on to the purchaser of the car. They deliver the cars to any location nationwide.

The greatest benefit of purchasing an EU Newagen has got to be the tremendous cost savings. However, the fact that a person can get a car when they want and that the dealer will deliver cars nationwide is also a great advantage. Regular maintenance and warranty repairs are conducted at the new car dealership just as with a new car purchased in Germany.

Talking to a person who deals in EU Neuwagen cars and the details of how the cars are imported will be beneficial. This person will be able to answer any question that a purchaser may have. When a dealership is needed for repair the EU dealer will be able to direct the new car owner to the correct dealership for their repairs.

Go visit our EU Fahrzeuge website, or drop by at our Neuwagen hub on hubpages.
